How it works
- A super-resolution AI model (ESRGAN) downloads to your browser the first time you use the tool, and is cached for next time.
- The model examines patterns in the existing pixels and predicts plausible detail for a larger canvas, rather than simply stretching the image.
- You choose 2x or 4x — a higher factor produces a bigger result but takes longer to compute on your device.
- The upscaled image is rendered back out and offered as a PNG download; the original file never leaves your browser.
