Your files and data stay on your device

Every tool on this site — file converters, image tools, writing tools, and utilities — runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and, for a few AI-assisted tools, machine-learning models downloaded to and executed by your browser. Files you upload to a tool are never sent to our servers or any third party; they're read, processed, and (if you download a result) written back out locally, all on your own device.

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages get visited, roughly how many people, which browsers and countries. This does not include the contents of any file you process with a tool. Google Analytics sets cookies and may collect standard technical data (IP address, device/browser type) under its own privacy policy. You can block this with a browser ad-blocker or Google's own Analytics opt-out without losing any tool functionality.

We don't run ads, don't sell data, and don't have a login system — there's nothing tied to your identity to collect in the first place.

WhatsClaw PDF is a PDF and document viewer/editor. Opening, editing, annotating, signing, converting, and scanning documents all happen locally using on-device libraries — the content of your documents is never uploaded anywhere, by any part of the app, under any circumstance. The sections below cover the app's other network activity: ads, usage analytics, and the Pro subscription.

Camera permission is used only for the in-app document scanner (capturing photos of paper documents to turn into a PDF). Captured images stay on your device and become part of the PDF you save.

Storage/file access is used to let you open and save documents through Android's standard file picker — the app only touches files you explicitly choose.

Optional trusted timestamp (RFC 3161): if you turn on this specific, off-by-default option when signing a document, the app sends a cryptographic hash of the document (not the document itself, and not anything that can be reversed back into your content) to a public timestamping authority so the signature can carry a verifiable time.

The free tier of WhatsClaw PDF shows ads served through Google AdMob — banners, interstitials shown only after you complete a task, and optional rewarded ads you choose to watch for a stated extra. Serving an ad involves AdMob collecting your advertising ID, IP address, and general device/technical information; on your first launch (or if you're in the EEA/UK) a consent screen lets you choose personalized or non-personalized ads. This data goes to Google, governed by Google's own privacy policy. Pro subscribers see no ads and trigger no ad requests at all.

The app sends app-usage events to Firebase Analytics — things like which tool you opened, whether an export succeeded, and which screen led to a purchase. Every event is limited to tool names, counts, booleans, product IDs, and currency amounts. No filename, document content, OCR'd text, or file path is ever included in an analytics event — this is a hard rule in the app's code, not just policy.

Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased and billed entirely through Google Play — WhatsClaw never sees or stores your payment details. To confirm a purchase is genuine and keep it unlocked across reinstalls, the app calls a WhatsClaw server, which verifies your purchase directly against Google Play's own API and records only the resulting entitlement state (active/expired, plan, renewal date) — never any payment information. This check is tied to an anonymous, randomly-generated device ID, not to your name, email, or any personal account — WhatsClaw PDF has no sign-in.

If you use the in-app referral program, WhatsClaw stores your referral code, a count of pending/verified referrals, and months of credit earned — never who you referred or who referred you (no name, email, or phone number). Installing the app via a referral link uses Android's Play Install Referrer API to connect the install to a referral code; this is a one-time technical signal at install time, not ongoing tracking.

• We never upload the content of your documents, ever.
• We don't sell your data to anyone.
• We don't require an account, sign-in, name, or email address for anything in the app.
• We don't collect personal information in the referral program — no name, email, or phone number, from either side of a referral.

If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes (for example, adding a new data collection mechanism) will also be reflected here before they take effect.
