How it works
- Your image is loaded into an off-screen HTML canvas element directly in your browser.
- If you're converting to JPG, the canvas is first filled with white behind the image, since JPG has no way to store transparent pixels.
- The canvas is re-encoded into the target format using your browser's built-in image-encoding API, producing a new file in memory.
- That file is offered straight to you as a download — nothing is ever sent to a server in the process.
